Third Point Re will combine the stability of a lower-volatility reinsurance business with the investment capabilities of Third Point LLC to deliver attractive equity returns to shareholders.

Third Point Re is led by Chairman and CEO John Berger, a highly-respected reinsurance executive with over 30 years of underwriting and management experience.

Third Point Re has entered into a long-term investment management arrangement with Third Point LLC, a New York-based hedge fund manager led by Daniel S. Loeb.

All of Third Point Re’s assets will be owned by Third Point Re and managed by Third Point LLC.

Third Point LLC employs an event driven investment strategy which has generated above-market returns with lower volatility than comparable indices and strategies.

Third Point LLC's private investment funds are currently closed to new investors.

After raising more than $750 million in capital at the end of 2011, the Third Point Re received an A- financial strength rating from A.M. Best.
